I am amazed at the attacks on “Word of Faith” ministries. Here is what Word of Faith means: Word of Faith emphasizes speaking, stating, or confessing verses found in the Bible, which is the Word of God. If one believes the Word of God and confesses it then the believer shall receive what they confess. This act of believing and speaking is described by Jesus in Mark 11:22. The term word of faith itself is derived from the biblical passage Romans 10:8 which speaks of “the word of faith that we preach.”

The act of confessing the word of God should not be something frowned upon. For example, if you are sick and you ask someone to pray for you that God will heal you and you claim you believe you are healed according to the Word of God, then why would you walk around and confess “I am so sick I am going to die.”?

Word of Faith teaches that you confess positive things and positive things will happen. Words are powerful. When God created the world, he spoke what he wanted to created. Words have creative power. If you read in Genesis, many times over, it states “And God said …” Whenever God wanted to create something, he “spoke” it into being.

Words backed by faith are creative and productive words. The Bible says “if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, you shall be saved …” So it’s OK to confess salvation with your mouth, but it is not OK to confess health and prosperity with your mouth?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with “word of faith” teachers and absolutely nothing wrong with making positive confessions based on the Word of God.

Oh, and by the way, I am a proud partner with one of the most blessed Word of Faith ministries of all time KENNETH COPELAND MINISTRIES, where “Jesus Is Lord!!!”

Many secular people have used this principle with great success. Many motivational trainers and speakers have used this principle. Why is it OK for the worldly, secular humanists to “speak positive things” and it is NOT OK for people in the body of Christ to speak positive words backed by faith and the Word of God?
